Could you be the one to save “My daughter” house?

A house with a cinematic past can be all yours. For buyers who love history and the silver screen, this opportunity in the Sunshine State is terribly tempting.

The E. Stanford Street house in Bartow, Florida was used for exterior photography in the 1991 film “My Girl”.

Built in 1906, the charming yellow and blue Victorian is listed at $ 675,000. It last sold in 2019, for $ 382,500. After it hit the market last month, many curious clicked to check it out. The residence was our most popular home for the week in mid-July.

Movie buffs will know the movie was set in Pennsylvania, but was shot in central Florida.

In the coming-of-age drama, which starred Macaulay Culkin, Dan Aykroyd, Jamie lee curtis, and Anna chlumsky– the house served as the Sultenfuss funeral home, the business run by Harry Sultenfuss (played by Aykroyd).

Off-screen, the house served as the Stanford Inn Bed & Breakfast. The hostel closed in 2012, but the concept could be relaunched by the right buyer.

For starters, the house is large enough to accommodate a number of guests. The two-story main house measures 7,508 square feet and includes six master suites. One of these suites is on the first floor and is accessible to people with reduced mobility. Other bedrooms are on the second level.

There are also 10 full bathrooms, many of which are connected to the bedrooms.

On the ground floor there are also two formal living rooms and two half bathrooms.

The house has two stairs, one at the front and one at the rear of the house. The elegant front staircase has a Victorian feel, with intricate woodwork.

While Florida doesn’t really need the extra heat, there are seven fireplaces in the house. They serve as comfortable focal points in many rooms.

Outside, an inviting porch surrounds the entire house and the 50 foot rectangular pool features a new pool pump.

The main house also has two independent sheds. Each has a bedroom, bathroom and kitchen. The listing indicates that they will need full renovations.

There is also a detached garage for one car on the large lot.

The paying customers have not stayed in the house since the business closed, but ghosts are said to have taken up residence in their homes.

There are reports of a loud appearance, which is believed to be a previous owner. Some people have also reported hearing footsteps on the stairs and seeing doors open and close on their own.
