The annual Rose Parade is one of the most anticipated events on the national calendar.
And the 2022 procession should be all the more special after last year’s cancellation due to the coronavirus; the first time such a break has occurred since WWII.

What is the Rose Parade?
The first of the events, officially known as the Tournament of Roses, saw floats full of horse-drawn carriages adorned with orange blossoms wowing crowds in 1890.
The parade is slated to mark the start of the Rose Bowl college football game on the Los Angeles suburb of Pasadena, California.
This year’s incarnation sees the Utah Utes and Ohio State Buckeyes football teams face off in the 2022 Rose Bowl game, starting at 2 p.m. PT / 5 p.m. ET.
More than a century after the inaugural event, the floats of the 133rd Parade now vie for the most eye-catching, using sophisticated technology hidden under a sea of ââbrightly colored flowers.
A statement on the Tournament of Roses website promises visitors this year “to experience the beauty of flower floats with lively bands and large-scale equestrian units.”
Theme Parade of the Roses 2022
The theme of the Rose Parade 2022 is âDream. Believe. Realize â. Those who attend in person and those who watch TV can expect to see flower floats inspired by TV shows such as ABC’s The single person and Fox The masked singer make an appearance.
In addition, brands, businesses and charities such as the AIDS Health Foundation, AMC Theaters, Reese’s and Trader Joe’s are also expected to participate.
Expect pop star LeAnn Rimes to add a dash of celebrity dust to the parade when she performs her track “Throw My Arms Around the World”.
And also promising to provide live music, Laine Hardy and the Hot 8 Brass Band, during the mid-parade show, while country music artist Jimmie Allen wraps up the show’s grand finale.
The parade will also feature classic cars, horseback riding, marching bands and even the U.S. Army parachute team falling from the sky on the parade route.
Route and schedule of the Rose Parade 2022
The Rose Parade presented by Honda begins at 8 a.m. on New Years Day, with the procession taking place along a 5.5 mile path along Colorado Boulevard.
The event begins at the corner of Green Street and Orange Grove Boulevard, then travels north onto Orange Grove at a leisurely pace of 2.5 mph.
The Rose Parade will then head east on Colorado Boulevard, where much of the main event is scheduled.
Towards the end of the event, the parade heads north on Sierra Madre Boulevard before officially ending at Villa Street.
How to get to the Rose Parade 2022
Those who wish to attend the Rose Parade in person have many options available.
Reserved parking spaces for automobiles, buses and recreational vehicles can be purchased through the official Pasadena Tournament of Roses website.
Alternatively, the site invites people to save the time and stress of driving by connecting to the city’s Metro Gold Line.
