Marc Broussard launches “Fire”, dedicated to Al Green

Premiere: Marc Broussard presents a new EP with a bold and soulful new video for “Fire” (dedicated to Al Green)

Louisiana-based singer-songwriter Marc Brossard gives Al Green a special shoutout in the opening seconds of his new song, “Fire,” before the track’s soulful energy and rhythmic beat take over.

It’s a preview of Broussard’s new EP coming this fall, and Rock Cellar presents the music video below:

“I’ve been looking for a vibe like this for a while,” Broussard said of the composition, which he co-wrote with producer Eric Krasno. “I gave Kraz some reference tracks for inspiration. He threw a really nice track back at me and the words came out of my mouth. Kraz definitely had to do some massages to get it in the right place and I am extremely grateful.

“Fire” will be released on July 1. Click here to pre-record the track now.

EP coming this fall follows Broussard’s 2019 album A collection of lullabies and will serve as a gateway to a new full album produced by Joe Bonamassa, expected in early 2023.

Here’s some background on Broussard, who has amassed an international following of adoring fans over the years through hard work and a serious soul music style:

Marc Broussard’s unmistakable brand of soul – a sweeping combination of rock, blues, R&B, pop and funk coupled with his powerful voice, has garnered worldwide praise from critics and fans alike. The son of Louisiana Hall of Fame guitarist Ted Broussard of “The Boogie Kings” Broussard nurtured his musical gifts at an early age, and the vibrant music scene in Lafayette, Louisiana gave him the opportunity to practice his craft as a consistently from childhood to early adulthood. After releasing a successful independent EP at age 20, Broussard made his major label debut with Carencro. The album featured the hit “Home” and catapulted it into the national spotlight. Broussard released several albums with major labels over the next 10 years, but recently returned to his independent roots after releasing several acclaimed original and charity cover albums through his SOS (Save our Soul) Foundation.
