A Rochester-area agency continues its efforts to build a 115-unit apartment complex across from an Endwell school.
CDS Housing of Webster has proposed a four-story, 125,000 square foot building on Hooper Road. The project site is just south of Maine-Endwell High School.
Union Town Planning Council approved the $ 18 million project last August.
Some people who live in an adjacent neighborhood have expressed their opposition to the senior housing complex. Last year, residents circulated petitions against the project.
CDS Housing has applied for a state grant to help finance the development of the apartment.
In an email, CDS Wolf Foundation executive director Tom DeRoller said, “We plan to continue with our project.”
DeRoller would not answer questions regarding when construction might begin or other aspects of the apartment complex’s development.
