The 20-year-old has struggled to adjust to life in the Premier League since his € 30million transfer from Juventus last summer
Paris Saint-Germain are in advanced talks with Everton to sign Italian striker Moise Kean on loan, sources confirmed Goal.
The Toffees signed the much-loved 20-year-old in a € 30million (£ 27million / $ 33million) deal with Juventus last summer but he has struggled to settle in the Premier League, scoring just four times in 37 appearances for Everton so far.
Juve had considered bringing Kean back to Turin earlier this summer, but ultimately chose to re-sign Alvaro Morata from Atletico Madrid instead.
The Serie A giants hoped to take over Kean under an initial loan deal, while Everton preferred either a loan with an obligation to buy or an outright sale.
Kean’s seven goals in 17 games for Juve in 2018-19 saw him grow to be one of Europe’s most exciting young stars, but his move to England quickly turned into a nightmare.
A few months after his arrival, Kean’s dad has publicly said he thinks the move was ‘a huge mistake’ and he should go back to Italy.
December 2019 saw Acting manager Duncan Ferguson took him barely 19 minutes after pitching him as a substitute against Manchester United, and hopes that compatriot Carlo Ancelotti would get the most out of him did not come true.
Kean barely played under the Italian coach, which had a transformative effect on the form of fellow striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
Ancelotti urged fans to be patient with Kean when he took over in December but youngster’s stock at club plummeted when he violated coronavirus lockdown guidelines to throw house party in April. A statement from Everton said the club were ‘appalled’ by Kean’s behavior.
Now, the youngster hopes to be able to put his difficult 2019-20 season behind him in Ligue 1.
Thomas Tuchel and PSG have lacked a striker since Edinson Cavani left the club, with Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting also left following his unexpected heroics in the Champions League.
Cavani to move to Manchester United, who are keen to bring in an experienced striker as Odion Ighalo’s loan transfer from Shanghai Shenhua comes to an end in the new year.
