PROVIDENCE, RI – A press conference will be held at the Rhode Island State House this Thursday, September 29 at 1 p.m. prior to this weekend’s Governor’s Cup football game between Brown and the University of Rhode Island.
Rhode Island Governor Dan McKee will be joined by Brown head coach James Perry, URI coach Jim Fleming and players from both teams to talk about the importance of the game and Saturday’s game .
The 40th Governor’s Cup football match will take place this Saturday at URI’s Meade Stadium with kick-off scheduled for 6 p.m. The game will be the 106th all-time meeting between Brown and URI on the court. Brown holds an all-time record of 73-30-2 against the Rams, with Rhody holding a 20-19 advantage since the Governor’s Cup was first presented in 1981.
