The Voice may be on a long hiatus, but Blake Shelton has revealed how Gwen Stefani makes him work from home

Spring has been a long time for fans of The voicewho haven’t gone this long without a season of the NBC singing competition since its debut in 2011. The switch to one season per year provided a nice break for the cast, as John Legend started a residency in Las Vegas, and the show’s only two OG members – host Carson Daly and coach Blake Shelton – go to recharge after 21 seasons. Shelton’s wife, Gwen Stefani, also reportedly enjoyed having her husband home, as the cowboy revealed how she put him to work in his spare time.

When The voice Season 22 will air on NBC this fall, Gwen Stefani will join Blake Shelton in the Big Red Chairs alongside veteran John Legend and first time coach Camila Cabello. This will be the ska legend’s sixth season on the show, but his first since the “Happy Anywhere” singers tied the knot last summer in an intimate ceremony. officiated by none other than Carson Daly. They can, in fact, be happy anywhere, but Shelton said People that his wife is taking full advantage of having him home during the extended break:

Gwen is completely into it. It’s time to plant the flowers. And Gwen is not content with these small areas around the sidewalk. We are talking about fields, hectares of flowers. So I have my work cut out.

I don’t know which is less surprising – that Gwen Stefani enlisted Blake Shelton to help put her spin on the Oklahoma ranch or that these plans are so extravagant! Equally predictable is the country superstar’s willingness to do whatever his wife asks, as the couple keep being the cutest when they talk about each other, just a month away from their first birthday.

Gwen Stefani must be really excited about major renovations happening at the ranch, as she also spoke about the big plans the newlyweds have in the works. Appearing on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in April, the No Doubt singer detailed the apparent “acres of flowers” Blake Shelton was tasked with:

We do a lot of gardening. We are talking about daffodils; we are talking about tulips [and] everything. We have already done all the bulbs. We made wildflower seeds. Now we are making zinnias. I sent him home to find out how to cultivate all the land and dig a well.

Go ahead, Blake! The country singer has opened up over the past year about how much his marriage to Gwen Stefani has changed him, and how he thinks he is. approaching the end of his career, her priorities have changed to focus much more on her family. When he said “yes”, Blake Shelton not only gained a wife but also three stepsons last year: Kingston (16 years old), Zuma (13 years old) and Apollo (8 years old), from the first marriage of Stefani with Bush leader Gavin Rossdale. It doesn’t look like the boys are getting into the “fun” of gardening, though, as Shelton told People:

[They] don’t really go into farming because they associate it with work.

Uh, yeah, same.

We don’t know exactly when The voice will return to NBC, but it will be fun to watch the husband and wife go head-to-head with their teams. Remember, the last time Gwen Stefani appeared on the Season 19 coaching panel, she won it all with Carter Rubin. I expect her to show no mercy trying to bring down Blake Shelton and the others again. Stay tuned to our TV program 2022 to see when The voice and other shows are premiering.
