D Wetherspoon plans to open outdoor gardens, rooftop gardens and patios in 394 of its pubs in England from next month, when lockdown rules are relaxed even more.
The cabinet, chaired by Tim Martin, said the sites would be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. (Sunday to Thursday inclusive) and 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. (Friday and Saturday), although some have restrictions on closing times and in those times. cases, will close earlier.
Check out the full list of reopens at the bottom of the story to see if you can visit your local next month.
The group’s update comes after the government said last week that pubs and restaurants could start serving outdoors from April 12 and indoors the following month.
Pubs have been closed at various times since the first lockdown last year and have also been hit with curfews.
JD Wetherspoon said when the sites reopen they will offer a slightly reduced menu.
Customers will be able to order and pay through the Wetherspoon app, but staff will also do table service for those who don’t.
The company will not operate a reservation system.
He added that testing and traceability will be ongoing and hand sanitizers will be available.
Wetherspoon CEO John Hutson said: “We look forward to welcoming our customers and staff to our pubs.”
FTSE 250 has around 875 pubs in total. Of these, 130 will not be able to reopen at that time as they are not in England where the April 12 date has been agreed.
Of the 745 locations JD Wetherspoon’s owns in England, it only opens those (394) that have enough outdoor space to make it financially viable to start welcoming customers next month.
